Wagon Rock Lookout
Wagon Rock Lookout is a large granite outcrop on the side of Mount Clarence, just 400m from the city centre.
Surrounded by large rock formations scattered through natural bushland, Wagon Rock provides panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside. A safety rail surrounds the lookout area.
The views from Wagon Rock take in the Stirling Ranges and Porongorups to the North, Mount Melville to the West, all the way to the Albany Foreshore and beyond to the South.
With the city centre close by, you have a clear view of the main streets, shopping areas and parks.
To reach Wagon Rock from the city centre, walk 300m to the Eastern end of Serpentine Road and follow the 300m Grade 3 walking trail to the lookout. Take care as the the trail has sections up to a 20% gradient and includes steps, bare stone and variable footing.
Wagon Rock provides panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.
For easier access, drive to the end of Serpentine Road, turn left onto Munster Avenue and follow it to Adelaide Place. Turn right for a small carpark. From there the lookout is an easy 25m stroll.
Please take care to remain behind the safety railing and keep small children close at hand as there is a significant drop on the West side.
