Middleton Beach

Middleton Beach is the Albany's main swimming beach, popular for its clean, clear water, white sand and family-friendly facilities.

Ellen Cove, of which Middleton Beach is a part, also features a Jetty and Boardwalk, and is the location of Carols by Candlelight each Christmas.

Named after Captain Middleton in 1834, the beach has become famous for its pristine condition and 'healthy air'.

Facilities include grassed areas, shady trees, barbecues, children's playgrounds, terraced picnic area and public toilets with showers.

Walkers can enjoy the 5 km path to Emu Point or the 4 km Ellen Cove Boardwalk with its views of King George Sound.

The protected waters of King George Sound attract Southern Right and Humpback whales during their annual migration between July and October, sometimes as close as 50 metres from the beach.

Within walking distance are a caravan park, several motels, b&b's and local eateries.

Middleton Beach It is located approximately 4 km east of the city centre.
