Ellen Cove Boardwalk

This paved trail takes in the swee­ping views of King George Sound in its 3km arc from Mid­dle­ton Beach to Princess Royal Harb­our.

Suit­able for both walk­ing and cycl­ing, there are many sights and hidden treasures dotted along its length. Beginn­ing at Mid­del­ton Beach, the path­way follows Marine Terrace around Mount Adelaide, into town.

Scenic lookouts take in the views of King George Sound and Ataturk Ent­r­ance. A midway con­nec­tion to Rotary Look­out allows the path to be enjoyed in sections if desired.

Reflect on the rich milit­ary history of Albany, where the ANZAC con­voys left for Gallipoli on November 1, 1914.

See the historic ruins of the Point King Lighthouse, abandoned gun em­place­ments of the lower Forts, and the Ataturk Mem­orial near the ent­r­ance to the harb­our.

The pro­ject was man­aged by the City of Albany, funded by Com­monwealth, state and local govern­ment pro­grams and con­struc­ted with the help of local Noongar through the Pathways pro­gram.
