Wagon Rock Lookout

Wagon Rock Look­out is a large granite out­crop on the side of Mount Clar­ence, just 400m from the city centre.

Surround­ed by large rock form­at­ions scatter­ed through natur­al bushland, Wagon Rock pro­vides pan­ora­mic views of the city and surround­ing countryside.  A safe­ty rail surrounds the look­out area.

The views from Wagon Rock take in the Stirl­ing Ranges and Porongorups to the North, Mount Melville to the West, all the way to the Albany Fore­shore and beyond to the South.

With the city centre close by, you have a clear view of the main streets, shop­ping areas and parks.

To reach Wagon Rock from the city centre, walk 300m to the East­ern end of Serp­ent­ine Road and follow the 300m Grade 3 walk­ing trail to the look­out.  Take care as the the trail has sect­ions up to a 20% gradi­ent and includes steps, bare stone and vari­able foot­ing.

Wagon Rock pro­vides pan­ora­mic views of the city and surround­ing countryside.

For easier access, drive to the end of Serp­ent­ine Road, turn left onto Munster Avenue and follow it to Adelaide Place.  Turn right for a small carpark.  From there the look­out is an easy 25m stroll.

Please take care to remain behind the safe­ty rail­ing and keep small children close at hand as there is a signific­ant drop on the West side.
